Day 1 – God Said It First

Bible Reading: Genesis 1–2

Key Verse: Genesis 1:3 — “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”

When God began creating, there was no material to work with. No light, no form, no boundaries. Yet He spoke, and His Word brought everything into alignment. Before He shaped man from the dust, He first created an environment suitable for him to live in. That’s the pattern of God — He speaks before He forms.

This is what it means to create your world with His Word. You cannot build anything meaningful in silence. God didn’t wait for the world to look right before He spoke. He spoke until the world looked like what He said.

“God by the power of His Word created the world from nothing, to the end that His glory might be manifested.” — John Calvin

Think about this: when God speaks, His Word carries the substance of what He said. He doesn’t describe reality — He defines it. You are called to do the same. Speak from heaven’s truth, not from earthly circumstances.

Meditation Questions:
  1. What area of your life feels “formless and void”?
  2. Have you been waiting to see change before you speak, or speaking to create change?

Reflection:
Your world begins where God’s Word is released. You don’t have to understand the process — you only need to agree with His pattern. Speak the Word first.

Prayer Declaration:
“Father, as You spoke light into darkness, I declare Your Word brings light into my home, my mind, and my purpose. I believe what You say will become what I see.”
