Partial Obedience is Disobedience

Apr 1, 2026    Apostle Robert Barrett

In this Spy Wednesday teaching, Apostle Robert H. Barrett delivers a sobering word on prayer, instruction, and surrender: partial obedience is still disobedience. Using Judas’ calculated betrayal (Matthew 26:14–16) and the disciples’ failure to watch and pray (Matthew 26:40), this lesson exposes a common spiritual pattern—the enemy often gets full obedience while God gets “almost.”

At the center of the message is Saul’s downfall in 1 Samuel 15: he fought the battle, but edited the command—sparing Agag and keeping the best spoil. God’s verdict makes it plain: obedience matters more than sacrifice, and selective obedience is treated as rebellion (1 Samuel 15:22–23). The lesson also connects Achan’s hidden compromise (Joshua 7) to the danger of concealed disobedience that brings broader defeat.

This session calls believers to recover a lifestyle where prayer produces movement—not just emotion—and where God’s instructions are followed without delay, negotiation, or revision. The close includes a powerful moment of repentance followed by focused intercession and declarations of full surrender.
