Lesson 1 Part 2 — The Altar

"We have an altar." That declaration in Hebrews 13:10 was the early church's answer to its critics — and it's the foundation of everything the New Testament believer is called to walk in.

In Part 1, we built the theology of the altar from Cain and Abel to Elijah on Carmel. In this lesson, we bring it all into the New Testament. The cross is the ultimate altar — the place of sacrifice, meeting, covenant, and war in their fullest and final expression, where the enemy was disarmed and every legal claim of darkness was nailed and cancelled.

Then the revelation turns personal: the New Testament believer is simultaneously the altar — the habitation of the Holy Spirit, the priest — the one who ministers through worship, prayer, and intercession, and the sacrifice — a living offering presented to God.

But the altar is not only a Kingdom of God structure. The enemy builds altars too — through repeated sin, generational iniquity, and agreements with darkness. This lesson exposes how those altars are built, how to recognize them, and how to tear them down: identify it, renounce the covenant, receive cleansing through the blood of Jesus, and build the altar of God in its place.

The priest cannot minister from an altar the enemy has compromised. Before you can walk in the priestly identity of 1 Peter 2:9, what needs to come down must come down.
